This album was inspired entirely by
nature and was probably influenced most by Gustav Holst. I have always been enchanted with nature; each
month seems to have its own unique beauty and magic. In this album, I tried to epitomize the beauty of
the seasons and the transitions between them. I feel that the transitions between the four seasons had
their own special, unique liveliness. This has inspired me all my life. In Spring Coming, the
music is slow, graceful and calm. It's meant to sound like the ice is melting and there is subtle, new
life manifesting. Spring was meant to be fresh and jubilent, full of life, fertility and energy.
Summer coming is warm and romantic; the air is heavy with the scent of May and June flowers. Summer
was meant to be hot and muggy, mytserious and primal like a midnight forest in July. Autumn coming is
meant to sound grand, abundant and active like a good harvest followed by a feast. whereas Autumn was meant to
be strange, otherworldly and manic like cold fire. Winter Coming (my personal favorite) is supposed to
sound very cold and icy, witchy and whimsical. Winter was meant to capture the silence and softness of
snow combined with the gradual return of the light after the Solstice.
